Brief History

Formed as a limited liability Jamaican company in 2016, CCL is the creative expression of a shared vision embodied by Howard James and Paul Moses. Theirs was a shared recognition of the challenge facing many local businesses seeking to grow quickly but lacking the critical structural platform and understanding of the different models for sustainable business development. They gradually diagnosed that there was a root issue of capacity building and agreed that it would be very helpful to formulate different approaches and concepts to building personal and business capacity which could serve as the platform for sustainable transformational growth.

In 2019, CCL improved its own capacity, when Lance Thomas joined the team bringing even more emphasis on powering/revving up our growth engine and building out our network of experts.

Leadership Team

Howard James

Howard is a chartered accountant who provides strategic business advice, training, accounting and operations consultancy services. Howard developed his financial expertise while supervising engagements at PricewaterhouseCoopers for ten (10) years. He later moved on to augment this with seven (7) years of leadership and retail market experience with the Lascelles De Mercado Group.

Having spent over 25 years in strategic business management, auditing and accounting, Howard is known for assisting organisations with implementing comprehensive solutions for complex business challenges. His work has been geared towards sustained profitability, growth and cost efficiency.

Howard is also a mentor for the Calabar Old Boys’ Association’s Mentorship programme.

Lancelot Thomas

Lance is an investor who has garnered over 20 years of financial management experience spanning the specialty areas of auditing, management consultancy, strategic planning, executive leadership, real estate development and wealth management.

As a director and shareholder of Capacity Concepts Limited, Lance enjoys helping clients establish their growth platforms, design business strategy, and build high performance teams.

Lance spent his early career years with PricewaterhouseCoopers performing financial statement audits and providing management advisory services. As a senior Finance Executive, Lance spent ten (10) years leading the strategic planning, risk management, financial reporting and business analysis teams at the Supreme Ventures Group.

A Masters’ graduate from the University of the West Indies, Lance has also completed executive leadership training at the Wharton Business School and is a Certified Talent Optimization Expert. Lance is a sports enthusiast who enjoys travelling, music curation, lawn tennis and design thinking.

Paul Moses

Paul is the founder and Managing Director of Checker International Ltd. and a former Director of the Jamaica Exporters Association.

He has spent over fifty (50) years in various senior management roles, forty (40) of which were dedicated to leading and developing sales teams at Kem Products Limited and Checker International Ltd. Paul has an enormous amount of experience in sales, and is our expert sales presenter. He devotes a significant amount of time helping small-to-medium-sized businesses develop appropriate sales and management platforms.

Paul holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of the West Indies.
